Top NHL Picks for Fanduel And Draftkings 10/24/2017

Steven Stamkos – $7,600 Draftkings $8,500 Fanduel
Match up – Carolina

It doesn’t matter who Stamkos seems to play against in the NHL, he just can’t be stopped! With Steven being on a 9 game point streak with 3 goals and 15 assists… I don’t see how we couldn’t put him in our lineups against the Hurricanes who will have Scott Darlng in net. Darling is sporting a .898 save percentage. For cash games and Tournaments Stamkos will be in my DFS lineups.

John Tavares – $6,800 Draftkings $7,800 Fanduel
Match up – Arizona

Tavares’ numbers have not been that great this season, but he has also had some very tough match ups. He seemed to find his groove in his last game against the Sharks though. Putting up a goal and 2 assists. The Coyotes have yet to win a game this season and are really struggling with a 4.22 goals against average. Also consider stacking him with Anders Lee who has 4 points in his last two games.

Vincent Trocheck – $6,200 Draftkings $5,400 Fanduel
Match up – Montreal

Last Season You couldn’t convince me to take players against Carey Price in the NHL, not the case this season. Montreal is sporting almost a league worst 4.07 goals against average. Trocheck has really surprised me this year with how consistent he has been playing with 7 points in 7 games. He is also on the top power play unit. With 1 power play goal so far this season, he is worth putting in a few lineups.

Notable Mentions – Jack Eichel, Johnathan Toews, Sidney Crosby

Nikita Kucherov – $7,800 Draftkings $8,800 Fanduel
Match up – Carolina

Typically I wouldn’t  put two players on the same line in one article, but I feel he is a must have for any cash game you are playing. With a whopping 16 points through 9 games it seems to be a no brainer. Between Kucherov and Stamkos they have a combined 28 Points in just 9 games! Yes they are both a little pricey but with the kind of production they are having i’d say its worth every penny.

Jamie Benn – $7,200 Draftkings $8,100 Fanduel
Match up – Colorado

Jamie is back to his old self, lighting up the lamp and putting up great numbers. With 4 goals in his last 4 games (2 of which have come on the power play). Benn is one of my favorite plays for the night because of his consistency and match up against Semyon Varlamov. I think he will be fairly low owned.

Chris Stewart – $3,900 Draftkings $4,200 Fanduel
Match up – Vancouver

Chris Stewart is showing us why he went 18th overall in the 2006 draft. His production has not been this good in quite sometime. However it looks like he has found some chemistry alongside Marcus Foligno and Eric Staal. Stewart has 6 goals and 2 assists in his first 6 games of the season. At this price he is a steal against the struggling Vancouver team. He’s also on the second power play unit. Which adds to his value considering Vancouver is 5th in the league with 14.4 penalty minutes per game.

Alex Iafallo – $3,900 Draftkings $3,600 Fanduel
Match up – Ottawa

So this is my value pick of the evening at just $3,900 and playing on the kings top line with Kopitar and Brown. As well as getting time on the power play.. I think he is an excellent play to free up some money to take one of the higher tier players. With 2 assists in his last two games he is not putting up crazy numbers but I think his time is coming. The Kings have been playing great hockey and are off to great start. With all that being said the kings have had a very tough schedule thus far and have still managed to dominate. With a weaker team like Ottawa it may be Iafallos’ time to break out and put up some points.

Notable mentions – Patrick Kane, Kailer Yamamoto, Viktor Arvidsson

Kris Letang – $6,000 Draftkings $6,900 Fanduel
Match up – Edmonton

Edmonton hasn’t had much to cheer about lately, as this was going to be the year they went deep. That is not the case thus far as the struggling 2-5-0 Oilers are getting destroyed night after night. While averaging 3.11 Goals Against per Game. Naturally Kris Letang Makes a great pick up for any format.  With 5 points in his last 5 games i think he is a solid player with a lot of upside. He is a little pricey yes but after the Penguins got blown up 7-1 the other night the Penguins are going to come out and prove why they are the defending champs. Vegas has this as one of the higher scoring games of the night.

Duncan Keith – $5,200 Draftkings $5,700 Fanduel
Match up – Las Vegas

Nobody can deny that the Golden Knights have been playing some great hockey. However, with all the injuries that they are facing in the goal tending position. It’s a great night to exploit their health. Keith has 6 assists in his last 5 games. Not to mention he is averaging about 3 shots per game and 2.5 blocked shots per night. On top of all that he is on the top line and top power play.

Rasmus Ristolainen – $5000 Draftkings $5,300 Fanduel
Match up – Detroit

Rasmus is everything i look for in a defenseman, he is low-cost with high upside, takes shots and gets lots of ice time averaging 27 minutes per game. Buffalo has had some really tough losses this season but they will be looking to bounce back against a red wings team who is giving up 3.18 goals per game. So to me he is a good option in GPP if you’re looking for a low owned defenseman.

Notable mentions – Mattias Ekholm, Ryan Suter, and John Klingberg

Andrei Vasilevskiy – $8,200 Draftkings $8,900 Fanduel
Match up – Carolina

Andrei is a stud and the league is starting to recognize that. Especially when you consider that he has only given up 4 goals in his last 4 games! I like him as a cash game play where as we know goalies make up for a big chunk of the points in a night.

Notable mentions – Gibson, Bishop, and Dubnyk
