Welcome to “The Cheat Sheet” by Root Fantasy Sports!

Welcome and lets get to it! We have a nice five-game slate tonight in the Association.

  • Atlanta @ Chicago
  • Dallas @ Memphis
  • Boston @ Milwaukee
  • Los Angeles (C) @ Portland
  • New Orleans @ Sacramento

Tonight is a night that features one of the biggest narratives in basketball: Boogie Cousins returning back to Sacramento to torment his old team for the first time this season. You can more than likely count on Boogie being the chalk. I certainly will NOT be fading this narrative, just like the one with Lonzo Ball tomorr… ignore that for now.

The Cheat Sheet is deadly accurate on picks. It’s up to you to follow the wave or dare to dive deeper and risk not cashing. We are so contrarian in DFS, we sometimes forget to take our own advice, Markkanen…LeBron…Capela, and crash and burn in a despair of DFS horror.

Let’s get to the key player in each position that I suggest for tonight’s slate.

Point Guard

Clear chalk in most line-ups will be Giannis Antetokounmpo but why not accompany him with the likes of Jerian Grant? Grant has been silently hitting value in two of his three games and exceeding value by 5x-7x over the past two games, including recently vs the Cavaliers.

Grant is facing the known point guard bend-overs known as the Atlanta Hawks without Dennis Schroder tonight and still hovering around his low mid-range price, Grant is in for a big night tonight if this becomes a shootout. Expected DK: 34

Shooting Guard

If you take a look at our DvP chart below, you see that man teams have been dreadful against shooting guards this season and over the past 5 days to get a sense of how bad it really is. Dallas, New Orleans and Atlanta are the teams that stand out the most, with Atlanta being the worst over the past 5 days than any other team on tonights slate. But, rather than pay up to that $6K price tag for Justin Holiday (which is still a great play if you can muster it), you can go to almost $2k down and pick up Tyreke Evans from Memphis.

Evans has consistently gone 5x his salary in every game this season and is playing his most recent opponent, the Dallas Mavericks. He is a presence off the bench, nonetheless, so if you’re looking for the instant gratification of the first 5 minutes of play to have scoring, you may just want to get that Holiday play. Expected DK: 25

Small Forward
The Atlanta/Chicago game is chalked full of value and lineup fillers. Many different options could be used in so many positions on Draftkings but probably even more specific on Fanduel.

One play that comes to mind for small forward is Taurean Prince. Prince has hit value in all games this season. Nothing spectacular but enough to get the 5x we look for on a minimum. With 6x-7x potential tonight, Prince faces the Chicago team that is struggling defending the 3 and with added news that Paul Zipser is OUT tonight, this helps elevate him just a bit more tonight. Expected DK: 26

Power Forward
Lauri Markkanen averages 7.3 3-point attempts per game this season and can drain a majority of them. Given a ton of run while the two stooges (Mirotec and Portis) are out, Markkanen has shown he can run with the big boys after his 19-point performance against the Cavaliers. Expected DK: 29

Center

Boogie Cousins versus Sacramento Kings. Enough said. You’re welcome. Expected DK: 75
